A part time Play Therapist offers support and therapy to children in a safe play room where emotional development and well-being can be enhanced.
We aim to provide a calming and supportive atmosphere where the child can experience non-directive play. They learn to accept time boundaries reinforcing a sense of trust and safety. Sessions can help raise a child’s self-esteem, enable them to make independent choices. They can help affirm growing competencies, encourage freedom of expression and support spontaneous choice.
We use song, quiet time, and a choice of sand and water, puppetry, art, music, sound, movement, miniatures, story, drama or simple non-activity and relaxation as tools to aid the therapy.
